About

Jeff Marrs is a drummer, educator, and lifelong student of music based in San Francisco.

A graduate of the New England Conservatory’s Master’s program in Jazz Performance, Jeff has built a career rooted in creativity, collaboration, and deep listening. Over the years he has performed with respected artists including Mel Martin, Don Friedman, Barry Finnerty, Dayna Stephens, Danielle Wertz, Doug Beavers, and has appeared as a guest artist twice with the San Francisco Symphony.

While performance remains central to his work, teaching is equally important to him. Jeff serves as a part-time professor of drums and percussion at local colleges and maintains a private studio in the Richmond District of San Francisco. His students have gone on to Berklee College of Music and professional touring careers.

Whether on stage or in the studio, Jeff’s approach is grounded, musical, and deeply collaborative — focused not just on technique, but on expression, sound, and artistry.
